About Asian Revolutions in the Twentieth CenturyFrom the fervor of Mao Zedong’s leadership in the Chinese Revolution of 1949 to the anti-colonial nationalism of Gandhi and the Indian National Congress, revolution has shaped the history of nearly all Asian nations in the twentieth century. This website provides lecture material, teaching strategies, bibliographies, timelines, and links to other online resources for teaching about revolution and revolutionary leaders in high school, college, and university classes. Resources are organized for ease of use, allowing instructors to focus on an individual revolutionary leader or to introduce students to the study of comparative revolution. This is a big topic, and accordingly we have cast our nets widely, gathering together a diverse collection of online material. As such, the links provided represent a variety of viewpoints on this important and politically charged subject. Please be aware of these different perspectives as you make your way through the material. REVOLUTIONARY LEADERS OF MODERN ASIA
